I almost didn’t tell you this (but $400 changed everything)
If you saw me three months ago, you would have seen a woman who was “fine.”
I have a good job. I have a family I love. On paper, everything looked perfect. But behind the scenes? I was exhausted. I was the person who stayed up until 11:00 PM balancing spreadsheets, only to wake up at 6:00 AM to pack school lunches and rush into a 9-to-5 that drained every ounce of my creative energy.
I felt like I was running a marathon on a treadmill – moving fast, but staying in the exact same place financially.
I didn’t want to quit my job; I liked my career. I just wanted a “buffer.” I wanted to be able to buy the “expensive” organic blueberries without checking my banking app first. I wanted to pay off my credit card without feeling like I was losing my soul to a side hustle that took up another 20 hours a week.
The “Hidden Hour” I Discovered
One Tuesday night, while sitting in my car waiting for my daughter’s gymnastics practice to end, I did something different.
Usually, I’d spend that hour mindlessly scrolling through Instagram, looking at vacation photos of people I barely know. It was “dead time.” But that night, a friend sent me a link to Survimo.
I was skeptical. I’ve seen the ads for “Get Rich Quick” schemes, and I knew better. But my friend swore by it. She said, “Sarah, you’re already on your phone. You might as well get paid for it.”
I signed up. It took 60 seconds. I answered a few questions about the coffee I drink and the shoes I wear. By the time practice was over, I had earned enough for my morning latte.
I realized I had stumbled onto a “Hidden Hour” in my day.
